Agenda: Technical support to prepare new partnerships in agricultural development
AMDT held the Pre-award Workshop for this year bringing together 30 participants from 9 partner organisations to align preparedness to implement 9 new projects in sunflower and pulses value chains. The 2-day technical discussion gathering involved presentations and deliberations on key aspects of project implementation protocol at AMDT. The new partnerships will work on interventions in 10 regions of Mainland Tanzania, where the current two value chains focus on, particularly in sunflower and pulses producing zones.
The new partners include development organisations, private sector enterprises and state institutions. Among the key topics deliberated, the discussion covered finance and grants management, gender transformative approaches, results measurement and monitoring as well as knowledge management and communications. As foundation, AMDT presented on the M4P Approach and its adoption for each project.
This project implementation methodology puts people at the centre of all interventions, in line with the focus to improve lives for poor productive farmers and producers with increased employment and income opportunities. In addition, approaches of climate change effects mitigation were discussed alongside efforts to improve the business enabling environment for actors engaged in the two value chains.
