Godwin is a highly experienced operations management professional who has served International Organizations such Deloitte East Africa, Winrock International, DAI Global LLC- Bethesda Washington, Alliance for Green Revolutions in Africa (AGRA), and now with the Agricultural Markets Development Trust (AMDT). For more than 14 years, his project management experience including grants and financial management, capacity building, and operations expertise which has enabled him to shuttle between East and Central African countries, in particular Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda.
Previously, he served as a Tanzania Country Lead for multimillion Dollar programmes including USAID Feed the Future Continental Wide Program under the CAADP (Africa Lead II), implemented by DAI Global LLC and Winrock International as well as USAID-funded BOCAR project implemented by Deloitte East Africa. He co-authored a case report titled “Facilitating Learning Collaboration and Adaptation under ASDP 2 in Tanzania” while at DAI/ Winrock International. The report can be found at USAID learning hub.
Currently Godwin oversees operations of AMDT Programme of more than USD 39.5million, with a focus on agricultural value chains. This adds to a cumulative experience of managing operations and management of USD 140 million for the past 15+ years.
Godwin has an MBA Graduate in Business Administration with Corporate Management major. He has several international accredited certifications including Certification in Program Management Development for Professionals (PMD-Pro) by APM Group London; Market Systems Development (MSD) Practitioner by Springfield Centre – London. He is a Certified member with a Mastery in Directorship by the Institute of Directors (IoDT) in Tanzania. His sector specific expertise stems from a keen interest and breath in designing, evaluating and managing agricultural developments programmes, particularly on transforming the sector to sustainably and economically benefit smallholder farmers while propelling growth of agribusiness enterprises. He drives the systems thinking in agriculture and has also led several agricultural development project evaluations for bilateral, international, and national organizations.
