During the closure and reflection workshop in Dodoma, AMDT recognized 11 key partner projects for their collaborative efforts in advancing agricultural development in Tanzania. The event was graced by the Guest of Honor, Mwajabu Abdallah Nyamkomora, Assistant Regional Administrative Secretary for Industry, Trade, and Investment in Dodoma Region. Key lessons were shared, focusing on:
- Financial Management: Enhancing the management of project funds for Market Facilitators (MFs) and Market Actors (MAs).
- Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA): Promoting the use of irrigation systems for Early Generation Seed (EGS), Quality Declared Seed (QDS), certified seed production, and grains to mitigate the effects of climate change.
- Access to Finance: Creating linkages for farmers to access credit and financial resources, increasing productivity.
- Adoption of Local Technology for Pigeon Peas: Supporting local technology for processing pigeon peas and adding value through stakeholder engagement.
- Strengthening Public-Private Partnerships: Facilitating collaboration for sunflower seed multiplication to improve accessibility and affordability for small-scale farmers.
- Market Linkages: Connecting smallholders with market actors to enhance the sustainability of the agricultural value chain.
