Project Goal: The project aims to engage 28,000 smallholder farmers directly and 152 Youth-led SMEs in five regions including Iringa, Morogoro, Manyara, Dodoma and Singida, with a particular focus on facilitating youth and young women engaged or aspiring to be engaged in agribusiness to secure dignified and fulfilling employment opportunities in the sunflower sub sector.


Through targeted initiatives, the project builds capacity of the MSME and enhances awareness, adherence and application of seed/input quality standards and regulatory frameworks that govern the sector. The project connects young women and men SME to government initiatives such as innovation hubs and block farms (Building a Better Tomorrow program) which provides significant opportunities among youth especially on land acquisition and financing support; In addition, the project support market linkage initiative for MSMEs by organizing local and international Business to Business (B2B) networking events, matchmaking services, and industry-specific partnerships.

Key Outputs and Outcomes:
Primary Outcome(s) 1: Expanding and diversifying inclusive markets and trade for youth and women run MSMEs.
Output 1.1: Enhanced market and trade linkages for financially disadvantaged youth especially young women
Output 1.2: Strengthened capacity of youth led SMES to participate in markets and trade
Output 1.3: Improved enabling environment and compliance to quality and standards for regional and continental food trade
